Cottage Garden
By Joan P.
When I began planting my flower beds over ten years ago, I was keeping bees and thus planted many native species. I have tried to have things bloom throughout most of the year. While things were neatly planted and spaced at first, as plants have grown, they have seeded and spread randomly. I tend to leave them where they are unless they get too wild. I like the effect, but some would see it as chaotic.
Takeaway – Even with the best planning, flowers and shrubs can get out of control quickly, and you have to decide when and whether to step in and restore order.
