Growing Obsession Garden
by Diane M.
My husband and I nicknamed our gardens “Growing Obsession” because we couldn’t stop adding more plants. After volunteering in the butterfly house at Ladew Topiary Gardens, I became obsessed with pollinators of all kinds. I began to see not just the plants in my garden, but also the living creatures that inhabited it, including native bees, butterflies, moths, birds, and a diverse range of wildlife. Now I am converting my gardens to native plants as much as possible. I have included some unique natives, including one that smells like licorice and one with a pipe-shaped bloom that temporarily traps a fly for pollination.
Takeaway – Natives can be unique, and our gardens are pollinator habitats.
