COST: $10/ Adult and $3 / child

Get ready for a magical evening adventure as we discover the secret life of moths! This program will shine a light on some of the coolest, most underappreciated nighttime creatures fluttering around our neighborhoods. We’ll learn all about local moth species, why they’re important, and what challenges they’re facing. We’ll set up a glowing mothing sheet to attract and observe these fascinating insects up close. Who knows what winged wonders we’ll find? Bring your curiosity, your flashlight, outdoor shoes, a camera, and get ready to explore the wild side of the night!

We will meet at the red barn at 8:30 pm and listen to moth expert, Kerry Wixted, talk about these interesting organisms. Then we will walk to the moth sheet and light setup and identify and observe the moths we find. We will then walk back to the red barn at 10:00 pm to close off the night.

This event is weather-dependent; our rain date will be TBD. The event is limited due to parking, first-come, first-served (please use the link to purchase online). Carpool if possible. The Susquehannock Wildlife Conservation Center property is not yet open to the public and is only open for special events such as this one at this time.

This event is made possible by a grant from the Harford County Office of Community & Economic Development. For those of you who are visiting from out of town, please consider staying in a local hotel so you can join both of our pollinator events this weekend. Hotel accommodations and other fun things in the area can be found by visiting www.helloharford.com
